The itch to browse the shelves

With everything that's happened in 2020, and at the time of this writing, my public library network is still at curbside service only.

I wholeheartedly agree with keeping workplaces for public services safe. I'm glad to place holds and pick up for the safety of the awesome people who run the libraries.

I just miss browsing. Typically I know exactly what I want to read, but in those times I don't know what I want, browsing the library sections and shelves is a pleasure. And at this point, I could not browse.

Catalogues can help, that's what I used this time. It just… isn't the same as a title catching your eye from the shelves, or thumbing through the pages to get a taste.

I look forward to when browsing can come back in a safe way.
