My sister in law has excellent taste in steady YouTube channels. Every recommendation she's given me has been awesome.
And by awesome I mean soothing, fascinating, and quick to provide a feeling of inadequacy which is the highest compliment I can give to creators who are stunningly good at what they do.
I've currently been enjoying @mymechanics who does stunning restorations and creations in metalworking. The sheer number of tools and the apparent ease in how this guy disassembles and reassembles things astonishes me.
I also just binged a bunch of videos on HMS2. Miniatures are so cool. Just… so cool.
And making them takes a mind shift that leaves me spinning in the best way.
I am not a fine details person, okay? I am a big picture, conceptual, inter-connectivity, cross discipline person. The level of detail in these guys' projects makes me both impressed and impatient. Are all those steps necessary? Hell no. But are they high quality? Uh YEAH!
And making a video of the quality of these is a completely separate art that's been mastered, so full props for that too.
Imma go watch the rest of the 2020 MarbleLeague and get more excited for some little glass balls with names than I would for actual athletes.
Peace.
