True Canadian Ghost Stories by John Robert Colombo

If you're looking for a grab bag, this is it!

I'm partial to regional paranormal collections. I have to say, it's a favorite genre of mine and there are a lot of ways to do them. This way, though, isn't my favorite.

I prefer my spooky content a bit more curated, but one plus to Colombo's method is there are a lot of sources used. This collection includes everything from committed first hand accounts to historical newspaper ads to "friend of a friend of a friend" hearsay. The hearsay is traditional and usually means a story with a lot more color, so no complaints just its more for entertainment factor than anything.

I wasn't familiar with the author's work before this - I found this collection used at a Bookmans in Arizona - so to find out about his empire of paranormal stories was a bit disappointing. I'm more partial to local historians.

But if you're into a wide ranging swath of stories from historic to recent, personal to corporate, intimate to distant… this will be your title.
